There is a parking area on north side of road (ST 151289).
Ash Priors Common is a mixture of grassland, scrub, woodland and bracken covered heathland. This varied habitat lends itself to a wide variety of plants. Heath Spotted, Common Spotted, Southern Marsh and Early-purple Orchids are all found, as is Adder’s-tongue. Saw-wort may be seen in the grassy areas. Both Agrimony and Fragrant Agrimony can be found in the scrub. There is a pond with several introduced plants – e.g. Ornamental Rhubarb. The south side of the road is mainly wooded with a large bracken- covered clearing where Common Twayblades thrive and interestingly many specimens have every flower on their spikes ‘upsidedown’.
