Recording all plants growing wild in Somerset, not just the rarities!

10 Crook Peak and Wavering Down

Park in car park on the edge of King’s Wood (ST421560).

There is open access to a large area of downland, scrub and disused quarries, affording panoramic views across Somerset. This is very rich botanically – Common Cudweed, Dropwort, Squinancywort, Honewort, Dwarf Mouse-ear and Lesser Chickweed to name a few. Many rocky outcrops provide habitat for Basil Thyme and a variety of roses.
